About Youth Leadership Greater Washington
For the past decade, Youth Leadership Greater Washington has identified and connected promising young leaders and given them the tools they need to make a difference in their community. An outgrowth of the successful adult program, Leadership Greater Washington, and run by volunteer graduates of its program, Youth Leadership Greater Washington brings together approximately forty to fifty high school sophomores and juniors from across the metro area each year for intensive hands-on leadership training and experiential learning. Youth Leadership Class of 2007 Celebrates Great YearYouth Leadership Greater Washington celebrated the graduation of fifty-two young leaders on May 30, 2007. The students were joined by their parents and guardians at LGW's offices to celebrate the completion of the program year. Kanu Kogod ('91), Mary Abbajay ('06), Barbara Donnellan ('99), and Seneica Sykes Bullock ('00) all played significant roles in this year's program. LGW applauds the Freddie Mac Foundation for providing generous support to ensure the program was a success. Comcast of the District and The World Bank Group also made significant contributions to the program.
