Joseph A. Budzynski serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Volunteers of Americanational office. As Chief Financial Officer, Joe is responsible for directing financial strategies and infrastructure that ensures the growth and stability of the organization.
Mr. Budzynski started with Volunteers of America almost seven years ago as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer where he managed the Housing Development and Operations accounting support for over 400 housing properties including financial compliance with HUD and tax credit restrictions. Joe was a charter team leader to ensure local office compliance with the national headquarters standards. Additionally, Joe provided technical accounting support and strategic analysis to 37 local office affiliates and provided industry and organizational development plans tailored to specific local offices that include the areas of governance-wide strategy initiatives, program enhancements and setting performance triggers.
Prior to this position, Mr. Budzynski served as the Chief Financial Officer of The Greater Washington Board of Trade, a regional chamber of commerce. He has also worked in the healthcare and telecom industries. Joe is a member of Leadership Greater Washington's Class of 2006 and currently serves on the board of directors as Finance Committee Chair. Joe is a member of the Audit Committee at Volunteers of America at Chesapeake and is a member of the Virginia Society of CPAs. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Virginia Tech and is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Joe resides in Fairfax, VA with his wife and two sons and is active in his community.
