Marc Battle is Vice President of the Potomac Electric Power Company ("Pepco") for the Washington, DC Region. Pepco is a regulated electric utility that provides transmission and distribution services and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Exelon Corporation. Pepco delivers electric service to more than 815,000 customers in Maryland and the District of Columbia.  As Pepco’s Region Vice President, Marc manages public policy strategy and stakeholder relations with District of Columbia government officials, community leaders and business, consumer and nonprofit organizations.

Prior to assuming the role of Region Vice President, Marc served as Associate General Counsel, Regulatory Law, of Pepco Holdings, one of the largest energy delivery companies in the Mid-Atlantic region, serving about 2 million customers in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland and New Jersey.  As Associate General Counsel, Marc represented Pepco Holdings and its subsidiaries Pepco and Delmarva Power & Light in regulatory matters in the District of Columbia and Maryland.  

A 1999 graduate of the University of the District of Columbia, and 2002 graduate of the Howard University School of Law, Marc practiced law initially in the federal and local government, serving as Senior Counsel and Communications Director to Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and later as Counsel to the Committee on Government Operations for the Council of the District of Columbia.  Marc later joined the law firm of Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson, LLP in its New York office where he focused on complex commercial litigation.  Marc transitioned to the New York headquarters of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund where he worked on civil rights matters nationwide involving education and voting rights.  In 2009, Marc returned to Washington, DC to join Pepco Holdings, Inc. as Assistant General Counsel.

Marc is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland and New York.  He serves as a board member of the Greater Washington Urban League, Leadership Greater Washington, University of the District of Columbia Foundation, DC Chamber of Commerce, Ingenuity Prep Public Charter School, After-School All-Stars DC, and Chairs the board of directors of Step Afrika!. Marc is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Leadership Greater Washington, and is a life member of the University of the District of Columbia Alumni Association.
