Joe Gardemal is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal's Global Forensic and Dispute Services practice in Washington, D.C. He brings more than 25 years of experience in forensic accounting, auditing, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement proceedings, and valuation and damages estimation in commercial litigation matters.
Mr. Gardemal specializes in providing consulting services regarding valuation and damages, forensic accounting and fraud investigations. He has worked with clients in a variety of industries, including insurance and investments, auto manufacturing, distribution, retailing, defense and aerospace, satellite and cable television, and healthcare and pharmaceuticals. He has provided expert testimony in these areas in U.S. State and Federal Courts and in international matters.
Mr. Gardemal earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, with a concentration in accounting, from Loyola University. He is a U.S. Army veteran of the Iraq War and received the Bronze Star and the Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars for his service. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Valuation Analyst, and a Certified Government Financial Manager. He is also Accredited in Business Valuation by the American Institute of CPAs and Certified in Distressed Business Valuation by the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors. He is a member of LGW’s Class of 2009.
