LGW Sings the Hits: Our Staff's Favorite Karaoke Songs

August 4, 2022

On September 7th, LGW friends and family are invited to Karaoke Night at Wok & Roll in Chinatown. And our staff couldn't help but join in on the fun. Whether they're taking the stage or just watching from the crowd, we asked them what their pick is when they're in the spotlight.

Tony Bethea, Member Services Associate
I'm not a big on karaoke, but if I was it would be "Someone Like You" by Adele. It's a great song, and it doesn't matter if it's difficult to sing because I'm not actually doing it!

Dani Brockert, Director of Development & Membership
"Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond. I love Neil Diamond, it gets the crowd involved, and it's short and sweet!

Rebecca Hertz, Events & Programs Manager
"You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morissette. There's so much passion and it feels very cathartic to sing, plus a lot of people already know the words. "Zombie" by The Cranberries also hits that same note.

Debbie Kaplan, COO & VP of Programs
"Ain’t No Mountain High Enough", the Diana Ross version. I'm a huge fan of Diana Ross, and I used to sing this song after school with my friends with pretend microphones. My daughters always look for me on the dance floor when it plays.

George Parlier, Communications Manager
"The Best" by Tina Turner. My first two concerts were Tina Turner when I was five years old and my love for her is endless. Any song will do but this one's especially fun to sing. If it's a duet though? "Shallow", and I'm doing the Gaga part.

If you're lucky you might get a chance to catch one of them performing in person, but you'll have to register to find out who. Your stage - or maybe just your seat - awaits!
