It is no easy task for a college-bound high school student to decide on how their personal path will lead to a fulfilling career. To that end, LGW members came together at Archbishop Carroll High School (ACHS) for ‘Career Conversations,’ our latest Community Service Day presented by IBM.
Volunteers kicked off the morning with an overview of the school and its mission presented by Beth Blaufuss (’15), President & CEO at ACHS, and were later prepped by ACHS staff on how to best maximize our time with their students.
During the event, LGW members and Carroll High School alumni joined with scores of ACHS students seeking wisdom and guidance from a variety of industry leaders from across the region on how best to prepare for the working world.
LGW members were distributed throughout the school in different classrooms – organized by industry – to discuss with students the finer details of their personal career journeys. Our open discussions covered everything from personal challenges and unique opportunities encountered throughout the college experience, the importance of internships, and wisdom informed by years of experience on how to best move forward into members’ professional fields.
