Join LGW for an evening of bourbon tasting that explores the distilleries and traditions of the DMV region!
Held at the Capitol Hill home of Carlyn Madden ('21), the tasting will be led by Chris van Ordern, an expert on the local craft spirits and beer landscape. By day, Chris is an international trade specialist managing food and beverage relationships for the Virginia Small Business Development Center, where he manages the Craft Beverage Assistance program. By night, he's an insider on the local beverage scene, writing for DC Beer Week and sitting on the board of the Heurich House Museum.
Chris will guide the group through a tasting of a variety of local distilleries, including Republic Restoratives, One Eight Distilling, and Catocin Creek. He'll also touch on the history of the region's whiskey traditions and the uniqueness of the local regulatory environment.
Tickets for the event will be $60, and will include the tasting, hors d'oeuvres, and make-your-own cocktails following the guided tasting. Space is limited to 25, so raise a glass and register today!
