Artificial Intelligence has shown how it can be a powerful force, and as it grows at an exponential – and often unexpected – pace, it’s become increasingly important to look at the ethical concerns it introduces. While prevailing conversations have focused on AI in art and marketing, the implications it has in health care, law enforcement, and finance go beyond the typical generative capacities of ChatGPT and have the potential to skirt – if not entirely overstep – the legal bounds of privacy, accountability, bias, and transparency. Renée Cummings, Data Science Professor of Practice at UVA and a specialist in AI Governance, is joining us to discuss Artificial Intelligence Ethics and Policy Development, and how to build an ethical AI.
