The first months of 2025 have been chaotic for our local workforce. Through layoffs, budget cuts, and programmatic restrictions, radical changes have been implemented across governmental agencies, changes that reverberate not just in the halls of government but across our entire region. And while much has been made about how these effects are felt in large corporations, the “smaller” voices haven’t yet been given that same space to talk. We want to change that.

On Thursday, March 27, we are convening a roundtable discussion for leaders in our Membership who head small businesses and local nonprofit organizations to talk about how the dramatic changes set by the new administration are affecting them. It will be a space to share difficulties and challenges, to discuss what actions they are taking now, and to map out a future that navigates a system changing almost every day. It’s an opportunity not just to elevate voices that haven’t been heard, but also to come together as a collective voice in the face of unexpected and unplanned challenges.

If you are an LGW Member who leads a small business or local nonprofit organization with under 50 employees and have been deeply impacted by the governmental changes, we invite you to join us as we figure out what’s now, what’s next, and what we can do to support each other.
