*BoardStrong is a service offered exclusively to Active LGW and Rising Leaders Members*
Leadership Greater Washington is excited to launch a new partnership that gives LGW members an additional way to utilize their leadership skills and experience for the greater DC region, through nonprofit board service.
LGW is partnering with BoardStrong, a nonprofit organization focused on strengthening nonprofit board governance, to offer LGW members access to BoardStrong Connections, a national, online, searchable database that matches individuals with nonprofit organizations.
Through BoardStrong Connections, LGW members can find a nonprofit organization whose missions match their passions and reach out to those nonprofits about getting involved. Members can search by geography, mission and other requirements.
LGW members who lead nonprofits can also seek board members for their organizations: use discount code “BoardStrongConnections” to list a board position posting in the database for free.
Thanks to LGW’s partnership with BoardStrong, all other participation in the database is free as well.
Webinar: Finding Board Members using the BoardStrong Platform
Recruiting new board members is one of the most important tasks for a nonprofit organization. It is also one of the most challenging. Finding a diverse, talented group of individuals willing to contribute the Time, Talent and Treasure to your organization can seem like an overwhelming challenge, especially if you are looking outside of the personal connections of your current board members.
Join BoardStrong Director Barbara Paxton for a session on recruiting board members and a demonstration of the BoardStrong Connections board matching platform. The session will start with a brief introduction to the board development cycle, followed by an in-depth look at the platform with tips for using it effectively to recruit new board members.
