Celebrating Good Times and Great Leaders

November 7, 2024

It was a night to connect, converse, and celebrate - and we did all three in spades. But above all, it was a night to honor Howard W. Stone, Jr. ('96) as our 2024 Leader of the Years. Howard has been close friend and champion of Leadership Greater Washington for decades, and his commitment to not just Prince George's County, but to our region as a whole, makes him a leader worth celebrating. Howard, we once again congratulate you and thank you for all you have done - we couldn't think of anyone more deserving of this honor!

Howard was the star of the show, of course, but the Celebration of Leadership is also about the collective might of our members and supporters. Once again we were fortunate to welcome over 700 regional changemakers to celebrate the extraordinary leadership all around our region. And of course we couldn't pass up the opportunity for a little fun too!

But for a few magical minutes it was all about Howard. After viewing a video featuring his dearest friends, family, and colleagues, he accepted the honor and spoke of his dedication to Prince George's County and the Greater Washington region.

It was a night we'll never forget, and of course we can't go without thanking the amazing host committee - co-chaired by Artis Hampshire-Cowan ('96) and Steve Proctor - for ensuring that it all came together!
