We're less than three weeks away from our first Annual Summit on Wednesday, June 25. This will be our biggest action to date to meet this current moment in our region - one unfortunately characterized by job loss, financial uncertainty, and questions about where we will be in the coming months and years. While we wouldn’t wish these challenges on anyone, this is exactly the kind of moment LGW is made for.

Since its inception nearly 40 years ago, Leadership Greater Washington has been about the collective power of extraordinary leadership. Every participant in the Signature Program is not just an extraordinary leader but a steward of progress, guiding our region through trials and tribulations, successes and failures. The impact of the LGW network is unmatched, and it's this impact that we hope to harness during the Annual Summit – this year and for years to come.

Through information level setting, strategic thinking, and action-oriented workshops, you will work together to build paths toward a new future for our region. And you'll also be joined by two guests that we could not be more excited about: Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, spiritual leader of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, most recently recognized for her stirring sermon following the 2025 inauguration; and the day's keynote speaker, Marc Dunkelman, whose newest book, Why Nothing Works, discusses the core problems that stifle progress and how to restore faith in democratically elected governments.

But at the end of the day, this convening is about you.

The power to drive this region forward through major changes is at the core of LGW and our network of amazing leaders. The Annual Summit is a chance to build a roadmap for impact and take action to support our region and all of us who call it home.
