These are difficult times for our region. Our communities remain burdened by federal pressures, and so many of our residents have been adversely affected by financial and legal issues within the government. In short, it may seem an odd time for a celebration.

But our Celebration of Leadership isn’t your usual party. Gathering hundreds of regional leaders in one room together – to connect, to collaborate, and to yes, celebrate – is the ultimate expression of the LGW mission, our vision of togetherness and joining forces to make positive change. And there’s no better person to embody this vision than our 2025 Leader of the Years: Terry Kenny (’16).

A native-son of Montgomery County and a lifelong resident of Greater Washington, Terry’s extraordinary leadership in business and his commitment to nonprofit organizations across the region could not be more deserving of the LGW spotlight.

But it wasn’t all about Terry. He was the star of the show, but everyone in the building – our members, partners, and supporters, extraordinary leaders from every corner of the region – deserved celebrating. And celebrate they did!

They celebrated each other, the relationships they’ve built over years and the ones they made that night. But for several special minutes it really was all about Terry, welcomed to the stage by a video featuring tributes from family and friends. All eyes were on the LGW superstar!

All of these extraordinary leaders in one room made for a sensational night, but it never would have come together were it not for our Celebration Host Committee. Thank you all for your hard work in making it an evening to remember!
