1987

Lyles Carr (’87) featured in a Washington Business Journal viewpoint story by Alex Orfinger (’98). Tickets and sponsorships for the Celebration of Leadership on October 12 are available now.

1999

Sandy Dang (’99) received the Outstanding Americans by Choice award from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

2006

The University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center's grand opening is on June 12, 2021. Joseph L. Wright (’06) is the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for the University of Maryland.

2007

Lisa Mallory (’07) named Executive Director of the National Association of Health Services Executives.

Layli Miller-Muro (‘07) founder of the Tahrir Justice Center will deliver the 2021 commencement address for Agnes Scott College.

2013

The Democratic Governors Association appointed Mayor Muriel Bowser (’13) to its membership. She is the first Mayor to hold this distinction.

2017

Bruce DePuyt (’17) won first-place awards from the Maryland-Delaware-District of Columbia Press Association for exceptional reporting on state and local government.

2018

Karen Wawrzaszek (’18) joined BNY Mellon Wealth Management as the new Regional President for the DC area.

2019

David Gardner (’19) is relinquishing his daily stock-picking responsibilities to lead the Motley Fool Foundation as Chairman.

2020

Jennifer Kaplan (’20) joined the Biden Administration as Senior Advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce.

2021

Indira Henard (’21) received the first-ever Wheaton College of Massachusetts Social Impact Award.

Scott Kratz (’21) and the 11th Street Bridge Park team received the 2021 Casey Trees Canopy Award in the Leadership category.
