The SHRM Civility at Work Thought Leadership Series is a six-part program designed to immerse leaders in the critical topic of workplace civility, with a specific focus on areas like politics at work, mental health, and civility in leadership. Through exposure to expert insights, SHRM's research-based findings, and group discussions, this series will explore the challenges and opportunities of maintaining respect, professionalism, and inclusion in today’s evolving workplace environments.

LGW and SHRM will be hosting the final three sessions in the six-part series this Fall. Each session will be held from 12-1:30pm. Active LGW and SHRM Executive Network Members can register for individual or all three sessions at no cost using the link below; Inactive Members and Non-Members can register for individual sessions for $25 each, or $50 for all three sessions.


The Role of HR & People Managers

This session will explore the evolving role of HR leaders and people managers in modeling and sustaining civility across the organization. With practical guidance and forward-thinking insights, we’ll highlight the leadership mindset and strategies needed to navigate future workplace challenges with empathy, accountability, and clarity.


Jim Link is the CHRO for SHRM. His career includes roles of increasing responsibility across various industries and companies, including General Electric, the Pillsbury Company, Porsche Cars, and Randstad.  In his most recent role as CHRO for Randstad North America, he led a global team of 150 HR professionals who were instrumental in transforming the company into an award-winning, inclusive, and sustainable global leader.

Jim has served as a volunteer leader in several organizations including the SHRM Foundation Board, the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank Human Capital Advisory Board, and the Human Resources Leadership Forum. He is an adjunct instructor in the Executive MBA program at the University of Poznan (Poland) School of Economics and Business.
